Community Engagement FAQ
Everything families usually ask before getting started.
What is Community Engagement?
Community Engagement connects adults with developmental disabilities to their surroundings through structured outings, volunteering, and social opportunities in the community. Offered seven days a week, our program focuses on real-world experiences, building friendships, and encouraging personal growth.
Is this the same as Adult Day Support or the Social Club?
No. Community Engagement is a non-center-based service, with support delivered out in the community rather than at a fixed location, making it a great option for individuals who already have housing or day support and want more community connection.
What kind of activities are included?
Activities include local outings, volunteering opportunities, community events, and social activities tailored to each member's interests and goals.
Who is this program for?
Community Engagement is designed for adults with developmental disabilities who want more opportunities to explore their community, build friendships, and grow their independence.
Do I need housing or day support to use this service?
Not necessarily. Community Engagement can be used on its own or alongside other services like Day Support, Group Home, or Supported Living, depending on what best fits your loved one's needs.
