At Smiles Like Yours, we are dedicated to helping individuals with developmental disabilities (DD) create memorable experiences in a safe and secure environment.
Our Adult Social Club in Richmond is part of the Best Community Engagement Program designed for individuals in the DD community. We collaborate closely to provide exceptional adult support services, organize meaningful social activities, enhance communication, build essential life skills, and encourage independence, all in a safe, welcoming environment.
It started with three members and one car
How a caregiver who saw the system fall short decided to build something better.
"John went to the park"
Our founder was a caregiver who saw firsthand how the system often fell short. While working in an institution, she noticed that caregivers recorded activities like “John went to the park”, but in reality, John and others were left sitting idle all day.
A determination to do better
Those experiences fueled her passion to create something better, determined to give individuals a real life filled with genuine experiences instead of empty entries in a logbook.
Small beginnings, big heart
She started small, driving three members in her personal car on weekend outings, the first real adventures that would grow into everything Smiles Like Yours is today.

Today, Smiles Like Yours offers your loved ones the opportunity to actively participate in community activities, build social skills, and live a life full of adventure and growth, across social clubs, group homes, and supported living in Richmond.
I wanted our members to have a real life, full of genuine experiences, not just activities written down on a page.

How did Smiles Like Yours get started?
